emphasis - am trying to pick up conversational arabic, however i cant read or write. whenever i try to read an english translation of an arabic word i have no idea where to put the emphasis of the syllables and the words sound monotonous and robotic. please help

- you should try to look for anyone who can speak arabic by looking them up in the mebers section (upper-right hand corner) and try contacting some of them. Try to get them to go to the Classroom at a specified time and talk with them so that you can start figuring out where the correct stress is in the word. In the mean time you should learn the arabic alphabet (if you haven't already done so). It's really easy it only took me about a few hours to learn it.

the only thing you have to worry about is the initial medial and final positions (arabic is a cursive alphabet and it contains some letters that don't connect on the left side)(some letters have an unexpexcted look depending on it's position)
