| Hi, Petra - Hi, Petra, I the most serious Czech learner you'll meet! It is only because I am at work now and have to write this message quickly that I did not take time to compose it in Czech! I know Ukrainian and Russian (and, of course, English) and apart from Czech am currently learning Swedish and French. As you might have noticed in another thread, I am currently reading "Osudy dobrého vojáka Švejka za světové války". I can also speak some Czech, but I suspect I make mistakes in case endings. Are you ever in the Classroom room in the Phrasebase? You can find me there every evening in US Eastern time. Do you have a microphone or a webcamera? We can talk Czech live! I haven't had conversational practice for a couple of months now! You also probably know some Russian -- I can help you improve it. Please let me know. Thanks! Arteum | |

| Swedish - Oh, I just noticed you were learning Swedish too! I can help you with it too, although I am a learner myself, but at least I was communicating with a native Swede for a few months now (he works next door), and, as a result, I can pronounce Swedish sounds very well. | |

| I need help!! - Hi there. I am new to this site and am very interested in learning Czech. My b/f is from Czech Republic, and would like me learn to speak his native language so that I can communicate with the rest his family. Though he is a great teacher, I would like to do this on my own, and surprise him. I would appreciate lessons...I have absolutely no background and have no idea where to start. Thanks. T.S. | |
