| Academic Writing - Hello! I'm searching for a person who would be able to teach me creative and academic writing. I have these classes at my university but I'm afraid that they won't suffice :D So if there is anyone who could help me in becoming a master please send me a PM or an e-mail. My main interest are discursive essays. Take care, | |

| Academic writing - Hi Hanna
Here's a resource I've personally found quite useful: http://www.utoronto.ca/writing/advise.html One piece of advice, if I may: Practise! Practise!Practise! Bury your teacher at the university under a pile of essays to correct, use the feedback and you'll probably master the "art". :)

| Creative writing - Advice for creative writing - Read a lot of books. And, for example, if you want to write Fantasy (i.e. magic, fairy tales), then read a lot of Fantasy!! Reading good books is the best way to learn creative writing - you will find yourself picking up techniques and you will be able to see what really makes those stories good. It might sound a bit too easy but there is really no better way to learn - no "guide to creative writing" book will ever really be able to teach you what you can pick up just from reading.
And I would love to read your creative writing if you ever want to run it by someone. It'll be another two years before I do academic writing at University, so I'm no where near helping anyone with that, but creative writing is my forte! :D

| - I agree with Ashlee. It really does help if you read a lot. | |
