| Is it difficult? - English is my native language, and only after I've started to study other languages am I able to see how strange and hard English could be if I was trying to learn it as a second language. I've spoken to a few people who learned English as a second language, and have gotten vastly different replies about whether or not English is much of a challenge to learn. A friend of mine from Russia found it very easy, whereas a woman from Turkey I used to know found it extremely hard.
How challenging is/was it for you to master English? Are there any particular stumbling blocks that come specifically with learning English? What parts of English are/were the hardest for you? I’m very curious… | |

I’m very curious…[/quote] Hello.HG Well my native language is Spanish and when I had to study English it was very easy maybe because I like languages and maybe because I was exposed to American media and music from America, I was born 136 miles south of the border in Monterrey,Mexico,so English is no strange language down there, also,Mexican highschools teach English as a second language so I guess that help me a lot. | |

My native language is Portuguese. I studied English at school as a second language. I saw american movies with legends. The two languages are indo-european. Is more easy than other languages that don't have the same letters or some similar words ( like: nativa, particular, diferente, parte...). That help me. | |
