| Teaching English - Hi. My name is Bruce and i have over 30 years' experience teaching and tutoring English as a first language and several years of ESL. According to reports, i'm an effective and inviting instructor and mentor.
If management gives me the go-ahead, i will happily arrange a class in Phrasebase to fill the greatest need.

| hope i can help - Thank you all for your eagerness in learning English. I am just as eager to teach you. Phrasebase could be a very good place to hold online classes.
Now i am just awaiting approval and support from the top administrators of this site. They must all be terribly busy. Possibly, they haven't seen this posting yet or haven't had the time to respond. I approached the top four admins privately, but the results have been less than promising. Peter replied to my message positively, but his personal circumstances prevent him from taking a very active role at this time. Alex, who often in the past had offered moral and technical support does not respond to my repeated requests. I fear that he may have some serious problem, but i don't know. Anya, the second most powerful administrator here, left a message on my home telephone some months ago, urgently asking me to talk to her, but failed to answer my return phone calls and numerous emails. I have had no explanation for this and fear that something terrible happened. Jeff, the owner of this site has told me that he will not respond to my emails, so i don't expect support from him. Besides their hard work here, they all have demanding personal lives, so i suppose that the pressures of life are taking their toll on them. If any administrators will post a message here, allowing me to use these facilities and being willing to work with me sometimes, then i will very happily start a class to benefit all. I love people and have a passion for languages. Now, the only thing we are waiting for is an answer from the leadership of this site. Perhaps if they don't want or need my services teaching English, they will let me know. If that is the case, i will make other arrangements to teach you motivated students. Since you came to this site for help, let's give them a few more days to tell us if they want us to learn together here. Thanks for your patience. Know that you have my support in learning what is becoming a universal language. Best wishes. Your hopeful teacher, Bruce

| Okay - Hi, boys and girls! Thank you for your nice response to this offer for free English lessons. We are ready to get started. I have set up a special email account just for this purpose. All you need in order to participate is email and an eagerness to learn. You have alredy shown the second thing.
If you need help getting email, please let me know. Anya has kindly given me the means to supply you with free email. The method will be simple, but has proven effective. Whenever you have time, send me an email with questions about English or simply write me a message using your best English. I will answer questions and also use your messages as the basis for lessons, correcting and explaining the best use of words, grammar, spelling, etc. Generally, i will forward my replies to the whole group. This way you can benefit from both indidual attention and also be in a virtual classroom, learning from other students' work. This may generate more questions and help you to know one another. Your messages may be about anything: your life, school, work, travel, anything that interests you. You may also ask me questions about life in the United States, my work and so forth. I will reply to your emails in the order i receive them as quickly as i can. Because i'm busy with my own professional language service, it may take several days to reply to your entry, but you will also receive the responses to other students' requests. The special email, just for you, is brucesenglish@gmail.com We can have fun and learn lots of English at the same time. I look forward to meeting each of you. Warm regards from your willing teacher, Bruce

| thanks - Thank you, Anya, for acknowledging the work we're doing. For a moment, it reminded me of the old days when you seemed to encourage my participation in Phrasebase. While i don't understand why you've withdrawn that support, i imagine that you are simply overwhelmed with all your responsibilities. I know that it may have been a lot to ask, but it would have helped me greatly and saved a lot of valuable time if you could have found just a moment to let me know that you don't want my involvement in helping learners here. I could have more quickly made other arrangements. While we can't change the past, i respectfully suggest this for the future, should a similar situation arise. I, like most people can handle hearing "no", but receiving silence in response to repeated requests is both time-consuming and can be personally damaging. Being very young, you may not have suffered the effects of this, and i'm sure that when you have, you will understand.
As you may recall, i've often offered you my unstinting help and did, in fact, give it anytime you requested it. This has not changed. While my resources are still limited, what's mine is yours for the asking. Thank you for your past assistance. It aided me greatly, perhaps more than you know. If your present reticence is the result of February's misunderstanding, which in turn is the result, i suspect, of my then untreated neural disorder, i welcome you to let me know what i can do to make amends. I publicly apologize for acting unkindly and treating you harshly. If, based on our previous dealings, you ever come to believe that that is not my real nature, you may feel free to tell me exactly what i did wrong and give suggestions as to how i might correct things. While i would much rather handle this privately, i will, if need be, humble myself before all onlookers. Peace and harmony are much more important to me than my personal feelings or even the public's view of me. You will, of course, do as you see fit; i accede to your wishes. Again, thanks for your past support.

| - Welcome to our little class. I am always eager to teach new students English. Because my wife is very ill, i may be slow to respond to emails at times. I will do what i can to help you and all students who write to me. I like to tell you this in advance so that you will not be disappointed.
I know the pain of unfulfilled expectations because some who have repeatedly promised support to those who want to teach languages here have proven false to their word many times. So, i will only promise to do what i can. If you follow the directions below, i think you will be pleased by the results. Again, welcome.
