Need help with Estonian, can teach English or Russian - Although I was born in Tallinn, and I lived there unitl I was seven years old I never learned Estonian. I have now begun learning some basics, but I think it would be helpful for someone to send me some short phrases and allow me to disipher them and write an answer, could anyone help?

Hi Veronica, - It is very nice of you that although you've born to a Russian family and moved to America by now, you still want to learn Estonian. Here is a couple of links that may help you:

- Tere, Tervist!

Yes, most of my mother's friends were Estonian when we lived in Tallinn, in fact, right before we moved to the United States my parents had just enrolled me in an Eesti keel class, and I am very upset that I couldn't have stayed there longer and learned Estonian (it is so much easier for younger kids). In general, I have very fond memories of Estonia, and I didn't even realize there was so much hostility between Russians and Estonians until I recently started reading some information on the internet. It makes me quite sad.
I hope to vistit Estonia some time next year (if funds allow) and it would be nice if I could understand and speak a little Estonian when I'm there. Thank you for the links!

Nagemist!
Veronika
