Two questions - Hi, everyone,
I'm Sofilos from China.
I have two questions about Farsi:
1,when to use plural form?
I came across these sentences: آنها دهقان هستند
آنها همه دانشجویان دانشگاه پکن هستند
ما دانسجو هستیم
So, why the word for "university student" of the third sentence is in singular, while the "university student" of the second sentence is in plural?
And can I say the first sentence like this: آنها دهقانان هستند
2. a question about اضافه
Is خواهر و بردار من read "kha:har va berada:r-e-man" or "kha:har-e-va berada:r-e-man"

Answer - Hi Sofilos

For your first question the answer is: If you dont want to explain the " university students " you have to use single form , but if you are explaining the " university students " you can use singular or plural form :

آنها دهقان هستند In this sentence you have to use singular form , but in these sentences you can use :آنها دهقانهای
مزرعه هستند
or , آنها دهقان مزرعه هستند
Also in your example its the same yu can use :
آنها همه دانشجوی دانشگاه پکن هستند
Thus, you cant say : آنها دهقانان هستند( it is not formal )

In your second question you ask a good question . When you have two objects ,you need to use -e- in the end of last object not both of them .
"kha:har va berada:r-e-man" is correct .

if you have more questions dont hesitate .

- Hi! Sasan:
And thank you for your explanation.
You are from Iran and now living in South Korea!!
I'm just a language lover and learn Farsi using a book called "basic Farsi course" written by the professors of Beijing University. It is the textbook used by that university, so not many explanations are in it.
Pohang city? It is in 경상북도?

- سلامsasan:
Thank you for being so friendly to me. I've been away from this discuss for days. That's because the traditional new year in China is coming, and I visited many friends and relatives.
I only know some words of Korean, but I can't understand it. But I found that in Korean there are many Chinese words.
I'm a college student and learning Farsi by myself. And ten days later I must go back to Beijing to go on with my study!! So then I will not have enough time to surf the Internet and don't have much time for learning Farsi. But I will not drop it. I'll try to learn new words of my textbook everyday. this is my simply plan.:-)
