|Spanish ,French and Italian - When I read Italian, it makes sence when I think in spanish or french. It seems that the grammar and words are almost exactly the same excepty for the spellings, but the spellings are different but when you sound them out the sound exaclty the same... or atleast with my american accent it does lol. I was wondering does anyone know what this says who does not speak spanish but italian, I just want to see if this works ! It is written in like half french and half spanish lol.
F = French
S = Spanish
1.(F) Bonjour ! (S) Como estas ? (F) Comment-vas tu?
2.(F)Je vais très bien, et toi? (S) Estoy bien, y tu?
3.(F)Moi, je vais comme ci comme ça. (S) Estoy mas o menos
4.(F) Je dois aller á l'école, Au Revoir ! (S) Yo necesito ir a la escula adios !
:D I will come back and post it in english, since I don't know how to speak the beautiful language of Italian.... ... ... yet :D (I plan on learning all of the romantic language)
Thanx ! Bye !

| - Hi Aaron,
Welcome to the Italian discuss :)
You are right, there are many similarities between romance languages. The spelling and sound are different but they have basically the same structure.
They have genders - masculine/feminine and number – singular/plural; adjectives, pronouns and articles must agree with the noun they refer to.
They also have similar verb tenses, like subjunctive and conditional.
Spanish is more close to italian than any other romance languages. Most italians can understand spanish without having studied it.
I added the Italian sentences to your example, so that you can see the similarities:
1.(F) Bonjour ! Comment-vas tu? (S) Buenas Dias! Como estas ? (I) Buon giorno! Come stai ?
2. (F)Je vais très bien, et toi? (S) Estoy bien, y tu? (I) Sto bene, e tu ?
3. (F)Moi, je vais comme ci comme ça. (S) Estoy mas o menos (I) Sto così così
4. (F) Je dois aller á l'école, Au Revoir ! (S) Yo necesito ir a la escula adios ! (I) Devo andare a scuola, ciao!
