Asking questions - Hallo, Peter. I wonder if one could ask questions about grammar, structures, sentences etc. because the grammar books not always explain the language in the way we need. I haven't seen this post in this norwegian forum, so that's why I ask this.

Great question! Just so you don't feel discouraged about Peter's inability to answer your question right away (which he usually would), he is currently travelling and doesn't have access to internet. He will return in the middle of February.

No problem, ask away! I didn't find many books teaching good grammar either. So I picked up a book on just grammar:

Norwegian Verbs And Essentials of Grammar by Louis Janus
All the major verbal and grammatical concepts of
Norwegian are presented in one little book.
ISBN: 084428596X

There is another good book out there if you can't find the above one:

Norwegian: An Essential Grammar by Ase-Berit Strandskogen
Organized by part of speech and covering all
the basic rules as well as some subtleties.
ISBN: 0415109795

In the meantime, I can answer you from what I've learned.

- I have found Norwegian Verbs And Essentials of Grammar to be a great book so far. If you dont have it already, I would definitely recommend picking up a copy.

grammar - hello, i have an exam on norwegian grammar this evening and just came accross this really useful website... its good if, like me, youre too broke to buy another book!!!
