| Future Tense - Can someone explain the future tense in Spanish and tell me how to conjugate -ar, -er, and -ir verbs in it. I figure it is time taht I learned a new tense and learned how to use new things and this is just one thing that I do not know. I know that I am probably asking a lot, but I would greatly appreciate it. :D | |

| - Well, the future tense is actually rather easy to conjugate, you use the same endings for all 3 types of verbs. As for its function, it's used in the same way you would use 'will' or 'shall' in English. I.e. I will go.
You take the infinitive, and add the endings. é emos ás éis á án So, Yo hablaré. - I will speak. Tú comerás. - You will eat. Ella dormirá. - She will sleep. Nosotros saltaremos. - We will jump. Vosotros aprenderáis. - You all will learn. Ellos sentirán. - They will feel. There are a number of irregular words, which don't use the infinitive, but a special stem instead. Ex. Querer: querr- Querré ir. I will want to go. Decir: dir- Me dirá la verdad. He/she will tell me the truth. Tener: tendr- Tendremos que ir la proxima semana. We will have to go next week. Hacer: har- Salir: saldr- Venir: vendr- Saber: sabr- Poder: podr- Poner: pondr- Valer: valdr- Caber: cabr- Those are some of the more common ones. I hope that helps. :) | |
