Specialists/Neophytes: - I don't know how serious Anya was, but just for fun at least, here is a thread to discuss potential names for differing numbers of posts.

It was played in the Random Questions thread that Specialists could have either individualized titles, or even more divisions. What the perameters would be is also up for debate.
Though, I'm not entirely sure you want to make to qualify for a name change. I've been tagged a 'Literary Pirate' :S :)lol.

I haven't though too hard yet about titles, but the title "Compulsive" to replace "Specialist" may be fitting for those of us who have clocked up 100+ Miscallaneous games posts. :)
Unless the name are to be individual.

Any ideas? Systems of name change, or name suggestions accompanied by number of posts.

*Maybe Snotra would like to achieve "Classroomroom Gatekeeper" status.;)lol

- Wonderful idea Ulv! and I was absolutely serious about the proposal for Specialist Names.

I especially like the nomination for Snotra and we should bring that up at the Name Tag Committee meeting!

I think the naming process will be done by a committee in a democratic fashion and that way we will make sure to get the best fitting name and also have the most fun with it!

- I like Ulvens new one ==> Literary Pirate

UlvenSunday 05th of June 2005 02:03:08 PM
- Suggestions need no qualifications. If I needed credentials for all the things I say with an apparent authority, the world would run out of paper and ink trying to print it all up.

You like Literary Pirate, Mattie? :)lol I'll have to find an alternative reasoning behind Joe and Anya giving me that name other than the 'plagerism' angle. I know...
-I steal from the Illiteracy Boogie-Man, and give to the illiterate the ability to write and spell. There... rationalizism and excuses can solve everything. :D
snotraSunday 05th of June 2005 02:03:28 PM
- have i made any mistake ? why my name is being discussed here ? :( plz explain .....

but i would like to have a nick "Professional Classroomter "
:D:D;)
UlvenSunday 05th of June 2005 02:12:42 PM
- No Snotra. Remember a while back, you asked why people get 5 stars under their name for making many posts, but you get nothing for Classroomroom contributions? Well, if you get called 'Classroomroom Gatekeeper', that would be an acknowledgement for that contribution.;)

- This is the best idea I`ve heard in a very long time!

Since most of the specialists have achieved their rank from playing in the various games (if achieved in any other way, they should simply get the name Nerd :p ), the forthcoming commitee would actually sort of know the persons that get their names! So the name could be very appropriate, personal and even be a guideline to new members which crazy people they`re actually dealing with!
So if one get a name like "pathetic obsessed loosAH", they can stay away from this person :p

Nah, just kidding, of course no-one will get a bad name, but the name one gets should reflect the person`s personality :)

Wow. That's kind of harsh.

- Oh, I didn`t mean it! I was only joking! I`m sorry if I offended anyone :(
Druhim VanashtaSunday 05th of June 2005 03:02:55 PM
- No, Sweetie. I don't think you offened anyone. I knew it was meant as a joke, at least. You poor girl, you seem genuinely upset by the idea that you might have offended someone. You have such a good heart.

Hugs for Psyche.

MartaSunday 05th of June 2005 05:51:37 PM
- Sure we will:D
Only I don't know if you'll get many questions from new poeple as a 'Literary Pirate':p
UlvenSunday 05th of June 2005 05:55:43 PM
- lol, I deleted my post. Marta responded to this--->

I hadn't even thought about it being purposeful for newcomers. I'm sure the Name Tag Committe will consider this idea as a parameter.

EDIT: As Literary Pirate I'll get plenty of questions from people wanting to know about copyright laws, and how to get around them:plol.

- I recommend Aaron (Caramelicious) for Name Tag: Frenchman (or Honorary Frenchman.

I think he deserves it very much for all the hard work he has put into the French discusss. How passionate he is about the language speaks volumes to his cultural savvyness. I think he is a true Frenchman in my eyes and I believe he will wear it with Pride! (until he conquers Spanish as well, then we will have to say he is Frenish?? just kidding!)
What do you guys think?

snotraSunday 05th of June 2005 09:28:25 PM
- Anya : U shud have a TAG as "Active Administrator " :)

joe.l is also qualify for that but he shud be "Guide"

and our dear Jeff shud be : Master.

- I absolutely agree with Anya regarding Caramelicious... on my not-infrequent wanderings into the French section of the board, i think he goes out of his way to make learners of the language enthused with it... and he is one of the reasons i almost switched from learning (or attempting to) Japanese to French... he may a bit blunt, but so very infectious... yeah for what it's worth, give the guy credit :)

- I submit a suggestion for Psyche's title as "Nymph of Norway".

I wasn't sure about the definition of 'nymph' in regard to sexual reference (because of the word 'nymphomania' :p), but my dictionary says it is quite innocent;

nymph -1. mythological semi-devine spirit regarded as a maiden and associated with an aspect of nature, especially rivers and woods.

I think both Psyche's self-portraits and pictures of her home fit perfectly with this definition.

Definition number two isn't out of place either, though it's something I'd hate to have to live up to (especially being a male). nymph - beautiful woman.
Unless we'd like to go with definition n.3 - immature form of some insects :D.

*Don't get a swelled head, Psyche, because I can always claim it's the insect definition that made me think of this name for you.;)

I totally agree with you. AaRon deserves his own title. I think French Assistant should be written under his name. I've always considered him as my assistant. It's the best title he could have I think :)

- Snotra has reached specialist level now. I propose naming him Ingleesh Master.

By the way, thanks for the title, but I hate the "Mom" thing. It makes me feel so old. It was ok when just the kids did it, but now I have people who are in their 20's calling me "Mom". It's heartbreaking.
