Danish - I am interested in learning Danish and wondered what websites are recommended for getting started with basic phrases and pronunciation. Seeing as though I currently know no Danish whatsoever, any help would be appreciated! :) Thanks! x

- Have you tried www.speakdanish.dk ?
I have tried (not that I need it), but just to check it. Sometimes I can't even hear what they say. At a time they said "At hedde" (to be called) and I somehow thought they said "Et helvede" (A hell). However, I guess it's okay :)
If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Pas på dig selv,
Freja

Hej,
okay, it's too fast. Well, at least you can hear how the letters are pronounced or something ;) I can't always hear what they say, so..
I would like to help you, feel free to ask any questions :)

Hav det godt,

- hej, I've learnt some danish (after living there for a while) and found that website to be very good but only after you've learnt how to pronounce danish first. And I've found no other website that properly does that. Danish is nearly impossible to find out how to prononce without a danish person telling you. Without moving to denmark or finding a danish person for lessons, 'danish in 3 months' is quite good for a guide to speaking (out of print but old copies are available from amazon). A friend recommended berlitz but I think that can be pretty expensive. Held og lykke!

- This is an excellent site as well,

http://www.geocities.com/tsca.geo/dansk/

It explains the danish grammar very well and there's almost everything you wanna know about it. It requires that you know all the grammatical expressions and are pretty familiar with the English grammar though, however if you like studying grammar, this site is great.

- the site jenkie posted, http://www.geocities.com/tsca.geo/dansk/ is great, i am halfway through it and while i'm not ready to strike up conversation yet, i'm finding it very useful in explaining how to form my own sentances!!! and provides the grounding i got when learning french in school, too, which is what i think is helpful.
as for pronounciation, i did a search on google and got a few sites which help, though i guess it also helps that i've heard my dad speak it a bit when i was younger. speakdanish.dk doesnt work for me, the sound comes out with huge pauses/gaps.

- Native Danes, does the dialogue on 'speakdanish.dk' sound natural to you guys? They sound like they're deliberately trying to be difficult to comprehend. Like they're going out of their way to not pronounce words. They miss many words altogether. I can't stand them. They annoy the life out of me. There's no beauty in those accents. urghh!

Hvordan ser ud det til dig, det samtale på 'speakdanish.dk'? Det lyder ikke naturlig til mig. De er ikke smukt overhovedhet at lytter til. Jeg hader at lytte til dem. urghh!

:Dlol

- Ulveven, jeg er enig! Nogle gange kan jeg ikke engang forstå, hvad de siger, hmm.. Deres accent! Få dem væk, hehe :D

- You might want to try:

http://travlang.com/languages/

Just select Danish. I just cheked it, and it somewhat easy to hear what they are saying. There's just one little thing; It's _very_ basic, but atleast you can hear how our language sounds, and that might be a help.

I'm using it myself, for Icelandic.
