| Dutch phrase - How can I say the answer in Dutch when someone says pardon (for exemple: in English: excuse-me and the answer is "it doesn't matter") How can I say "it doens't matter in Dutch"? | |

| - Thanks. I would like to know if there is another answer. Should I also say DAT GEEFT NIET UIT? Does this mean "it doesn't matter" as well? | |

| - Ah, I knew there was one more that crossed my mind before but that I couldn't think of while editing.. yeah, thanks for mentioning; it's "(het) geeft niet", and it also means "it doesn't matter". (If you want to be strict, "het geeft niet" means that it's not such a problem and "het maakt niet uit" means that it's completely no problem at all, but in real life I think they both amount to the same thing.) | |

| - Thank you very much. Now it's clear. Sometimes you have many ways to say the same thing. | |

| - Yeah, I guess there are generally tons of possible combinations to end up saying pretty much the same. Best way to choose one is just to listen/read alot of material and sort of imitate what you've heard, that way you'll always be safe :) | |
