I realise this might be a bit off-topic, but I was wondering how many non-dutch people here are learning dutch, by themselves or in classes, and would consider themselves intermediate speakers or better?

dutch: i'm learning dutch and ik been geen nederlandse.ik woon in roemenie en ik ben verliefd op deze taal.nederlands is uitstekend.

Hi everyone. I'm an Art Historian, and for me it has been almost a natural step to learn Dutch, due to the fact that there's been an array of very important artists and creators from the Lower Countries. Knowing both English and German help with Dutch, although the latter certainly has quite a bit of its own challenging aspects. Good luck to you all with your learning!

I'm learning by myself, and it's very aggrivating >.<
there are no classes that teach dutch where i live ;(
but i'm still trying and won't give up!

Well my Dutch is ok but not the best i used to speak it Fluently, i do speak German fluently...so since i speak German, and Dutch is very Germanic...i am sure i can catch back on to Dutch, but it is not the easiest to do also, the Grammer of dutch is a little more Explanitory than the German grammer, but ja i am learning dutch

Ik leer het, Ik heb een woordenboek en enige vrienden uit het Nederland, Ik gebruik www.verbix.com om de werkwoorden te vervoegen...
Maar ik nog steeds maak zoveel fouten, een meisje zei mij dat mijn nederlands verschrikkelijk is, Ik denk het niet... Denk jij het wel? =P
