whether......or........ - Is it right if I write:
"Whether rich or poor, happiness is elusive."

Depending on what you're writing about, you could say one of the following instead (though the one you wrote is fine :)):

1. "Whether you are rich or poor, happiness is elusive."
2. "Whether one is rich or poor, happiness is elusive."

2 is only for very, very formal things, though.
