Still more questions - Salaam:

I have more questions for this forum. Thanks
in advance for any replies.

1. "To break"
What is the difference in meaning?
tarekaandan = to break
shekestan = to break

2. "To take"
What is the difference in meaning?
bordan = to take or carry
bar daashtan = to take
gereftan = to take or catch

3. What is the Persian word for "deer"?
My Persian-English dictionary gives "gavazn",
but the Lonely Planet Phrase Book gives "aahu"
and says that "gavazn" = reindeer.
Which is correct?
Assuming that "gavazn" is a deer, are "aahu"
and "gavazn" the same kind of deer?

4. How does one pronounce the word for "parrot":
Spelling: taa + vaav + taa + ye.

- If I'm not mistaken Parrot is pronounced tuti, but it could also be pronounced totaa because of the Urdu pronunciation of the word, which would be ToTaa. Urdu and Persian are extremely related because Urdu is actually a mix between Persian and Hindi.
