Translating phrases - I will start posting phrases from the translating section of PB. I hope some will find it usefull.

do you remember me? – me thimase? – με θυμάσαι;
good afternoon – kalo apogevma (kalispera )- καλό απόγευμα (καλησπέρα)
good day – kalimera – καλημέρα
good evening – kalispera – καλησπέρα
good night – kalinihta – καληνύχτα
good morning –kalimera – καλημέρα
greetings – heretismata – χαιρετίσματα
hello – ya (yasu – yasas) – γεια (γεια σου- γεια σας)
hey everyone – ya sas – γεια σας
hi – ya – γεια
how are you? – ti kanis? (pos ise?) – τι κάνεις; (πως είσαι;)
how are you doing? - ti kanis? (pos ise?) – τι κάνεις; (πως είσαι;)
how do you do? – ti kanete? (pos iste? ) – τι κάνετε; (πως είστε;)
how have you been doing lately? – pos ta pas teleftea? – πως τα πας τελευταία;
how's it going? – pos pai? – πως πάει; (slang)
how is your family? – ti kani i ikogenia su? – τι κάνει η οικογένεια σου;
i am doing well – ime kala – είμαι καλά
i'm fine - i'm doing fine – ime kala, ta pao kala – είμαι καλά, τα πάω καλά
i'm fine thank you – ime kala, efharisto – είμαι καλά, ευχαριστώ
i'm just being friendly – apla ime filikos – απλά είμαι φιλικός
it's a pleasure to meet you, i'm pleased to meet you – herome pu se gnorizo, harika gia tin gnorimia – χαίρομαι που σε γνωρίζω, χάρηκα για την γνωριμία
it's good to see you – herome pu se vlepo – χαίρομαι που σε βλέπω
ladies and gentlemen – kiries ke kirii – κυρίες και κύριοι
long time no see – xronia ke zamania – χρόνια και ζαμάνια (phrase, slang)
what are you doing here? – ti kanis edo? – τι κάνεις εδώ;
what's happening? – ti simveni?, ti ginete? – τι συμβαίνει;, τι γίνεται;
what's new – ti nea? – τι νέα;
why are you here? – ti kanis edo?, giati ise edo? – τι κάνεις εδώ;, γιατί είσαι εδώ;

I will be waiting for your comments, and proposals about improving the learning posts (i.e. phrase building games or something else ).

- Useful? Panos, this goes waaay beyond useful, towards absolutely incredible. :) Thank you so much!

I've also found your grammar lessons immensely helpful, by the way.

Sure, some games would complement these wonderfully. Unfortunately, my present skills in Ελληκά don't go much beyond word level but I'm sure I could gain valuable insights into the language by simply following them. I'll give this matter more thought (and do some spying on other forums :p) and hopefully come up with more specific ideas.

In the meantime, thanks again for your wonderful work here. Much appreciated!
