- Hi, welcome!
First, you should study letters. Then, you should study about vowels, and then you will be able to read in hebrew, although without understanding it and only text that includes vowels.
I guess that is the first step...:)
Good luck! And if you have some question don't hesitate to ask!

- I agree with Lekker. I myself started learning how to read and write first by recognizing the letters and then combining them with vowels. It didn't really take long. But it requires constant studying.
Now I need vowels only with new vocabulary.
Good luck with your studies:)

ps: First off I learned the capital letters because it's all you see on the internet. But my Israeli friend told me that they use the small letters in every day life. I suggest you not skip it :)

- Um, what 'capital' letters are you referring to, Ladysmyrna? There's cursive and print Hebrew, but no capitals...

Magipsalm, if you need any help, I can give you a guide to the alphabet and send you more lessons as i compile them. Just drop me a line ;)

- What I mean by capital letters is actually print Hebrew. When I see them it reminds me of capital letters :p
Thanks Luke:D

Hebrew - I've learned the vowels and the consonants. It took the longest time though but I believe that is the most difficult part of learning the language. Every thing else past that point was pretty easy. (for me anyway) Learn that alef-bet once you've got it, you've got it and no one can take away from you.
