| זה - זאת - אלה - Ok, i thought that it\'s a good idea to start posting some basics of the language to help the beginners a little bit. I hope you\'ll find it helpful guys :) To get started, one should know the following: - Ze/zot (זה - זאת) are for singular nouns, \"ze\" being used for the masculine and \"zot\" for the feminine. - And yes! You guessed right! \"Ele\" is for plural for both masculine and feminine. - We should not look for a helping verb such as \"am,is,are\" to complete the sentence in Hebrew, because there is not one! The sentence structure is AS FOLLOWS; \"ZE/ZOT/ELE + NOUN\" Here are some simple examples for you together with their transliterations and translations: זה תלמיד : Ze talmid. (This is a student.) זאת תלמידה : Zot talmida. (This is a student.) אלה תלמידים : Ele talmidim. (These are students.) אלה תלמידות : Ele talmidot. (These are students.) זה חבר : Ze chaver. (This is a friend.) זאת חברה : Zot chavera. (This is a friend.) אלה חברים : Ele chaverim. (These are friends.) אלה חברות : Ele chaverot. [These are friends.) זה ספר : Ze sefer. (This is a book.) זאת מחברת : Zot machberet. (This is a notebook.) אלה דפים : Ele dapim. (These are pages.) אלה תמונות : Ele tmunot. (These are pictures.) P.S. : The word for page for singular is \"daf\" not \"dap\"!!!! I hope this will be useful :D | |

| - And here are some more examples: זה עט : Ze et. (This is a pen.) זה שולחן : Ze shulchan. (This is a table.) אלה מחברות : Ele machbarot. (These are notebooks.) זאת כיתה : Zot kita. (This is a class.) זאת מורה : Zot mora. (This is a teacher.) אלה תיקים : Ele tikim. (These are bags.) זה אוטובוס : Ze otobus. (This is a bus.) זאת דירה : Zot dira. (This is an apartment.) Words that are used with \"ze\" are catagorized as masculine whereas if used with \"zot\" as feminine. With the plural nouns, it\'s enough to look at the suffixes to determine the gender of the noun. If it ends with \"-im\" it\'s masculine, if it ends with \"-ot\" it\'s feminine. However, one should keep in my mind that there are exceptions to this rule and there exist also some other plural endings! Lehitraot! | |

| Adding adjectives! - If you would like to add an adjective to our demonstrative sentences, it\'s enough to determine the gender of the adjective according to the noun and place it after the noun! Ledugma (for example): Zot dira. (This is an apartment.) Let\'s try to say \"This is a new apartment.\" new: chadash (masculine) chadasha (feminine) chadashim (masculine plural) chadashot (feminine plural) Since \"dira\" is feminine, the adjective we will use should be \"chadasha.\" \"Zot dira chadasha.\" Let\'s use the other forms of \"chadash\" to make it all clear. \"Ze sefer chadash.\" \"Zot mora chadasha.\" \"Ele chaverim chadashim.\" \"Ele tmunot chadashot.\" | |
