| Budget - Dear all, apologies for a simple - yet for me, not easy - question: I understand the Hebrew word for budget is תקציב. Yet one can find on the web the use of באדג\'ט as well, mostly but not always in the sense of budget airline; and the Babylon online dictionary lists this anglicism as well, in the sense of budget, financial plan. Can anyone - perhaps a native speaker - suggest in what circumstances, how widely, and in what sense are the two used? Thank you very much, curiously, simon | |

| - Hi Simon! Please note: This question should be posted in the question\'s thread! For this reason, I\'ll move it in couple of days after you read the answer :) In Hebrew we say תקציב for the word \"budget\". Yet, many times the last one is used, especially in the names of companies like \"Budget\" (car rent company). But for financial plan, only one word is used: תקציב. But when you translate the name of company from, let say, English to Hebrew, the word \"budget\" should not be translated, because it makes no sense and sounds funny :) Hope it helps! Eli | |
