2. Hvað kostar þetta mikið?

6. Þú býrð á Íslandi?
7. Ertu með góðir kennararnir í Leeds?
8. Er pað erfiður að læra íslensku?

- 1. Hvar er Ráðhúsið? = Where is the town hall?

2. Hvað kostar þetta mikið? = How much is this?

3. Sæll, sjómenn: hvað segirðu gott?
Correction --> Sæll sjómaður: Hvað segirðu gott? = Hello sailor: How are you?
Plural --> Sælir sjómenn: Hvað segið þið gott?

4. Hvaðan er hún? = Where is she from?

5. Hvað heitir þú? = What is your name?

6. Þú býrð á Íslandi? = You live in Iceland

7. Ertu með góðir kennararnir í Leeds?
Correction --> Ertu með góða kennara í Leeds? = Do you have good teachers in Leeds?

8. Er pað erfiður að læra íslensku?
Correction --> Er [það] erfitt að læra íslensku? = Is it hard to learn Icelandic?

9. Hvar fæst þetta? = Where can I get this?

10. Hvað er að frétta þér?
Correction --> Hvað er að frétta af þér = What\'s up with you? (hmm, there is probably a better translation, anyone?)

- Yes, you cauld also say \"Hvað segir þú gott?\" but the sentence \"Hvað er um að vera?\" means: What\'s going on?!

Oh, I thought that maybe Hvað er um að vera could be used as a greeting as well as an exclamation :p Thanks for clarifying!

- \"að\" is used in many ways. I hope this makes sense to you.

[b]Infinitive marker[/b]

to (að fara = to go)

[b]Conjunction[/b]

that (hann sagði að sér væri sama = he told me that he didn\'t care)

so that (til þess að = so that), í því að = just as

[b]Adverb[/b]

wrong (hvað er að? = what\'s wrong), the matter (er eitthvað að? = is something the matter?), amiss (það var eitthvað að = there was something amiss)

from (norðan að = from the north)
vera alltaf að = never stop working
vera enn að = be still going strong
enn að = still in business

[b]Preposition[/b]

(about movement) at, toward, towards, to, up to, against

(about time) during (að sumarlagi = during the summer), by (að degi til = by day), in (að kvöldi til = in the evening)

(about changement) into (vatn varð að ís = water turned into ice)

in (að fullu = in full)

with (hvað er eiginlega að ykkur? = what is it with you?)

after (að enskum sið = after the English manner)

(this is from a dictionary I have)
