PASSƍUSƁLMUR NR. 51:
Į Valhśsahęšinni
er veriš aš krossfesta mann.
Og fólkiš kaupir sér far
meš strętisvagninum
til žess aš horfa į hann.

Žaš er sólskin og hiti,
og sjórinn er sléttur og blįr.

Žetta er laglegur mašur
meš mikiš enni
og mógult hįr.

Og stślka meš sęgręn augu
segir viš mig:

Skyldi manninum ekki leišast
aš lįta krossfesta sig?

This is from a famous icelandic poet named Steinn Steinarr.
Who is willing to translate it?

History of humanity for beginners: From under the travellers feet
came a rolling stone.
And the stone kept on rolling,
do you know that?

And seven thousand years later
came Sing Sing Hyed.
And Sing Sing Hyed had a wife,
but the wife just died.

And seven thousand years later
came Chagga Lay.
About Chagga Lay there’s nothing
known today.

And seven thousand years later
came you, came you.

This is from the same poet Steinn Steinarr translated by me.

AFFLICTION PSALM NR. 51

On the Keighley Hill
they are crucifying a man.
And the people buys a ticket
for the trolley bus
to look at him.

There is sunshine and heat,
and the sea is waveless and blue.

This is a handsome man
with high forehead
and fair hair.

And a girl with sea-green eyes
says to me:

Shouldn“t the man be sorry
for being crucified?
