| Hello! I'm new here. =) - Aside from a few words, I have no knowledge of Italian, but I really want to learn. How do you think I should go about it? I'm ruling out taking language classes because my schedule does not permit it as of now. :\ Do I try and learn the basics from a book, then try and apply it here? It's pretty scary to just jump in and chat when you don't know much. ;) | |

| ciao :-) - Hi Kulit, :) Welcome to Phrasebase! Don't worry if you can't take language classes, I think it's a good idea to learn the basics from a book or else a website; there are some good free websites for learning italian, look for the links in this forum. You may also have a look at the Phrasebase translations section and try to learn some basics expressions. Then, don't be afraid to practice with a native italian language partner, even if you are just a beginner! Practice is the best way to learn. Feel free to ask me any question about italian Ciao Carla ;) | |

| Ciao! - Grazie, Carla. ;) I've been going through the links I found in this forum. I'm particularly hooked on the BBC lessons. They're pretty good. :D Once I learn more, i'll be participating in the the threads here and will be looking for language partners. Thanks again! :) | |
