| italian word game #3 - Doublets - Metagrammi - Interested in other Italian games? Please visit the Italian Games Index Page Doublets (Metagrammi in italian) is the name of the popular word puzzle invented by Lewis Carroll, also known as Word Ladders, Stepwords, Word Chains etc. How to play: choose two words formed by the same number of letters, then transform one word into another by changing a single letter in each step, so that each link in the chain is a valid word. For example, to change SOLE into LUNA with 4 links: SOLE (the sun, il sole, masculine) SALE (the salt, il sale, masculine) SALA (the hall, la sala, feminine) LANA (the wool, la lana, feminine) LUNA (the moon, la luna, feminine) The one who finds a a solution will have to give another couple of words. The first words are: MALE – BENE ;) Carla | |

Alla terza persona singolare dell'indicativo presente si coniuga: lui/lei suole. E' molto poco usato nell'italiano moderno. La parola "sola" comunque ha un significato: è il femminile singolare dell'aggettivo "solo" (lonely). Carla | |
