living there-going to travel there: And alot of People I know don't seem to know muchabout Malaysia/it isn't as 'popular' as some countries are, but I've got alot of interest in it. I was wondering if some people who live there might be able to help me out a bit on anything I'd need to know. I'll be going probably next year or the year after. (its good to know things ahead of time XD)

coinoperated: Average tourist stuff thingy i'm not sure but you can visit here for all information about Malaysia. http://tourismmalaysia.com/

But no worries. 99.9% Malaysian speak fluent English :-)

Serbian 16: Ok Malaysia is the name of my country but there are many races here. Malay, Chinese,Indian & Native. Malay is also the mothertongue of the Malays & is recognise as the main language in Malaysia.

I think your gf doesn't know how to speak Malay. Not malaysian because some chinese speaks chinese language at home & go to Mandarin school & speak English widely. It's not strange though.

I will be heading to Malaysia as well (to Kuala Lumpur to be precise) and I'll stay during the last 2 weeks of January. I'll be visiting family and checking out a couple of unis while I'm there.

Can anybody give me a an estimate these expenses (and any other expenses that I might not have mentioned)?

Food
Taxi (let's say a minimum of 20km and a maximum of 40km)
City Bus
Clothes (if I decided to buy and wear ceremonial clothing or traditional clothing etc)
Internet Cafe
Prepaid Mobile (let's say 1,000 minutes)
