Exactly what was the lack of accuracy? I have all the books so far and the only movie that left out some interesting information was the 4th movie. But maybe I missed something. Please elaborate more?

okay they missed SOOOOOO much of the book. The begining was crap.... NO MUNDUNGUS FLETCHER... the whole Harry being late for the hearing.... GONE...... It was all messed up... the way they found out about the Thesterals... stupid. Not going to give up the whole movie, but dont try to compaire it with the book... you wont like it.

I've yet to see the 5th movie but I loved the previous ones. Being a reader and having read the books I prefer the books but considering that there's only so much you can put into a movie from a book, they do well.

Take The Lord of the Rings for example. If the movie makes had put every significant event in the books into the movies, they'd have been even more ridiculously long than they already are. There was an estimate made on the total length if they had gone by the book which was something like 62 hours.

Taking this into account you have to consider how much condensing has to be done in order to create a movie based on a book. Think of the poor soul who has to decide how to do this. They have to weigh up what would be the most important things to include on a whole to make the story flow as best as possible on screen. Sometimes they have to miss things out that some people my consider important but they're doing the best they can to fit within the perameters they're given.

I haven't been disappointed so far.
But we are all entitled to our opinions after all and each have our own way of looking at things. So don't assume that just because you don't like it that no one else will.

They only changed it a bit. Not like the 4th movie. How was their knowledge of the Thesterals messed up? Nobody could see them except Harry and Luna. They're only mentioned briefly in the book (with a bit of comedy added when the others try to ride them lol).

I actually like that they exposed more of the Dementors. And how we find out Dumbledor's "secret service" (you know what I mean if you read the book lol). The point got across that Harry was being protected as it said in the book.

But I agree with Marja; consider the length of the book. They did a much better job with the plot in this movie than the 4th movie.

I agree with Hamid. They did do a lot better with the plot in this movie, and out of all the Harry Potter movies, I think it stands alone the best as a movie independent from the books, ie. I think someone who hadn't read the books could have watched the movie and not felt lost or that there were things missing (apart from one or two scenes that were a bit choppy/rushed).

I wish that they could have put in a lot of the stuff left out, ie. the whole fact that Ron and Hermione became prefects, but that would be, of course, impossible without having an insanely long movie that no one besides the most diehard fans would want to sit through. And I don't think that even if they could put everything in the books on screen that they would be able to transfer Rowlings humor and style of writing that make the books so wonderful and fun to read.

okay true but still... there are alot of 3 hour movies out and its not too hard to make it at least 2 and a half hours is it? that way they could have put more of the good stuff in. but hey w/e.

OH and sry if it sounded like i was saying you wont like the movie. What i was really saying is if you keep compairing the movie to the book the whole time you watch it you wont like it, at least i did.

But of course that IS MY OPINION. so ya.

Often, the movie is disappointing compared to the book.

I think it partially depends upon what you are exposed to first, at least for me. If I read the book first, I don't like the movie as well as the book. If I watch the movie first, the book just doesn't live up to it. The only exception to this has been "A Series of Unfortunate Events" Horrible book, couldn't stand it, but the movie was all right, although not among my favorites.

I have also watched that! It will be released at 10th of August in Turkey :-) But I have already seen it. That was nice! I was expecting some more actions but that was nice enough, anyway. Is there someone who has read the last book of Harry Potter? Wow! It is available here around and everybody loves to read it!

Btw, have you watched the last 15 minutes of it with special glasses?
