Language Administrators: Hi everyone,

Javier suggested the creation of a thread introducing all our language partners. Joe and I loved the idea and decided to start the thread in question. Each time a new language admin joins the team, I'll post a message introducing that person. So here is an updated list of all partners, if you want to know more about one of them, feel free to ask me.

Thanks!

She doesn't have enough time to do her translations :( but she said that she'll keep on helping people in the forum, so I won't take her mod title back.

But we've still got many more to go - so if you are a native speaker of any of the languages she listed above, let us (her) know! :)

Let me tell you why... It is Jeff's idea, so no Vito, no one copied my avatar :D It's a way to make the site looks more professional. Phrasebase is looking for investors like you probably know. Before the About Us section looked very messy, now it's no longer the case :) => http://www.phrasebase.com/english/phrases/?action=aboutusall

Welcome Katya!

It's great to have a chance to learn more about Belarusian now that we have a new Admin around...it's definitely one of those Slavic languages that doesn't have many resources available and your help will be valuable and appreciated.

It's because I'm recruiting new admins in Yahoo Groups. I have to go outside Phrasebase to find rare languages. Hopefully with time those admins will join us in the forum. They are extremely nice :)

Wow! I had not seen this topic! Congratulations to Mery on her great job! I welcome all the new administrators, thanks for helping PB be a greater place (if possible :D).

I must say that PB is already important for me. The fact that others realise how important this place is is just a matter of time, they won't need much time to see that this is really a huge site.

Isnt here any Azeri Admin?

Mery
Saturday 10th of February 2007 03:49:11 PM
No Mahmud... because Azeri is not a language for which I am supposed to find an admin. We don't have any Azeri phrasebooks. It would take 3 days to add one. We don't have time to deal with that now. Of course in the future there will an Azeri phrasebook. If Azeri is your native language and you would like to join our team, please let me know and will get back to you later. Thanks!

Btw Phrasebase has two new admins:

Zahid: (Urdu Administrator)

Linda: (Slovak Administrator)

admin: What do you require from applicants to fill in such position?

Joe
Monday 02nd of July 2007 11:25:37 PM
The brief description is that we look for a person who is a native speaker of the language and can dedicate a fair amount of time to completing the Phrases and Words sections for that language, as well as translating PB itself into their native language.

Mery is in charge of admins. She does the interviewing of people for these positions. The list she provided in her post are the positions currently open (ie: have no language admin).
