The PB "Academy Awards" thread is old enough (and hasn't been posted to in so long) that I'll be deleting soon during my cleanup of the forums. If people are interested in reviving this, just continue on here.

I guess that's the official "endorsement" of this thread

So then - "carry on, carry over, Cary Grant..." (I'll be impressed by the person who can tell me where that line comes from! :p )

*second edit*

Okay, well the only accepted suggestion I could give is that you create a totally new email for the sole purpose of this contest alone, that all Phrasebase members can send their nominations/votes to.

However if you're displaying the email on the forum, you have to remove it from sight of the forum after the end of the contest. (Just forum policy, nothing personal :))

If anyone else has any other suggestions, feel free to shoot. ;)

Good luck ;)

I like Danial's suggestion, because otherwise only paying members could vote, which wouldn't make the pb awards as fair.

ehhh... just my old cynical self again - has nothing to do with PB, just a general thought, after dealing with some situations here at work.

Basically, it's commenting on the arrogance of the human race (generalized). Sometimes I think we get so carried away with all the "great discoveries" we've made, that we lose track of really how little we actually know about everything. That we've become so wrapped up in what we know, or what we've done, that we miss what is still unknown, or what has yet to be discovered.

Not sure if that really explains it... does it? :p

So basically what you are saying is that, us human beings think that we know it all but we are way too ignorants to see that we still have an infinite amount of things to discover..... correct? no....F-?!!?! ....CHOCOLATES?!?!?!?! :D

I'm afraid this was very unsuccessful. In the end only two people voted. So there was a tie in every catergory. :p

So who won? only 2 people voted? Alright then I nominate myself (ooppssss.. I haven't read the categories). And objections are definitely not welcome.

By the way, whatever happened to your database that I needed to sign up again to retrieve my account? Hmmm... Had there been some retrenching? Guess I've missed a helluva of things.
