- It does not seem there are many people here to share knowledge in the mongolian language. Or maybe noone know what Yagshtee means.... Oh well I will just have to look somewhere else for mongolian friends I think.

Sainbainuu - Hi there. You don't look very Mongolian, but at least we have a common ground. Are you in Mongolia? How did you get attached to this exotic country? I hope we can make contact. It looks like your postings were relatively recent. I don't know what yagshtee means ( think I screwed up the spelling too), but maybe can find out???

Bayarlaa for the reply - I will be travelling to Mongolia early in 2006. I was living in Los Angeles at the time (I'm in NJ currently) when i made a good friend who is from Ulaanbataar Mongolia, and is a student here in the US.
Through my friendship, I began to learn more and more about this wonderful and beautiful country, and when invited to travel there, I could not refuse.
I began to take an interest in the language, in order to communicate with my friend. My friend was a little shy about speaking english, so I started learning Mongolian.
Cyrillic script is the most difficult language I have tried to learn, so I have resorted to learning conversational words, phrases and sentences first, and learning to speak or have a conversation, rather than trying to learn to write first. I know its backwards but this is working pretty good for me so far. I'm sorry for not checking this board sooner, I see you replied two days ago, and I usually check every day. I'm very happy to have another participant in this language maybe there be more that come foward now that you have also, who knows :) !!
I hope we can make contact also. What is your attatchment to Mongolia ? I look forward to your reply. Bayarte

P.S. Yagshtee means "I don't think so !!" I finally discovered.

- Hi how are u doing?I hope good.I,m Mongolian and i know this what this word means. But who told you this word? Can i ask you so?
Btw it has a very funny meaning that i cannot translate into english !

- a decent american english translation for Yagshtee would be: \"yeah right\". It is used if a person says something unbelievable and you want to express your disbelief.

The literal translation of yag is \"exactly or precisely\". Tee makes it an exclamation. There is a strong sense of sarcasm in the vocal expression.

any mysterious words? - hi

good job, Quaz. you have found the meaning. although ajaydada explained the real meaning, yours really connotated it.

I\'m also Mongolian, so If there\'s any other words that interests you, and you can\'t find it from the dictionary, ask me.

regards,
N
