What did I write? - I found a little exercise that I think would be good for you guys to practice reading. If you do not have access to the Nepali alphabet, please let me know and I will teach you the letters. Unfortunately the old file with the characters is missing from the Archive, but I\'ll make it again and post it.

[b]Here we go[/b]. There are 5 short sentences below in Devanagari, and I would like you to translate them or transliterate them. Give it a try! (ask if you need help, too).

म विद्यार्थी हुँ -
म शिक्षक होइनँ -
तँ को होस् क्? -
हामीहरु केटी हौं -
तिमी मान्छे हौ -

Question for you! I know that in spoken Nepali the \"haru\" is typically left off, but all of the textbooks still use it. I think both are correct, right? One is just used in more colloquial language, hoina?

I usually use the haru because it is easier to use it than leave it out :)

Pyaro Anya, - Yes, both are correct (theoretically)hami and hamiharu,
but in coversation, we use to say:
hami dherai sana chhaun = we are so small
hami hamro deshlaai dherai mayaa garchhaun = we love our country very much.
All I am saying just for share with you my opinion. You may say both hami or hamiharu as you feel confort yourself, because both are correct.

Hami/Hamiharu -
one more thing, what I came to know about the subject:

Hami, when limited persons: me and my friends of my office (hami music sanga smbandhit kaam garchhaun/gardachhaun = we do job (work) related with music).

and

Hamiharu, when large (unlimited) persons: me, my friends of my office, you, Tanya and all my friends in net (hamiharu ek-aapaslaai bhasha sikaune kaam garchhaun/gardachhaun = we do teach language each other)
