Lisboa: Here are some pictures of my city, Lisbon:

The first picture was taken in Almada, in the other side of the river Tejo (Tagus) where you can find the best places to see the city of Lisbon.

Sunset: These are some pictures taken during sunset, again in Almada. You can see the bridge of S. Francisco...jocking...it's the bridge of "25 de Abril", that connects the two margins. I pass it almost everyday by train.

And that's the Corcovado, in Rio de Janeiro. No, again a joke. :D That's "Cristo Rei" in Almada, with opened arms towards Lisbon.

The train station in Rossio. It looks like a Renaissance building but it was built in the 19th century:

Belém: This part of the city is one of my favourites. And you can find, besides magnificent places to sleep under the shadow of the trees and monuments to admire, the famous "pastéis de Belém": Cakes made out of cream and other secret and delicious ingredients. I don't have any picture of them because they were quickly eaten. eh eh

The Tower of Belém. One of the most important symbols of the Portuguese Discovey Era.

A detail of the "Padrão dos Descobrimentos" a monument in shape of a ship, dedicated to the brave sailors of the Discovery. The "ship" is surrounded with enormous statues of the navigators and important figures of that period.

Another detail of the same monument. The statue leading the other men is "Infante" D. Henrique an important figure of the early Discovery period.

Thanks Ania for showing your pictures of Lisbon. :) I like the one with the bridge. The river has a nice green.
The first statue shown in the castle is of our first king. D. Afonso Henriques. The other one I really don't know! Where was the photo taken?

I checke my book about Portugal and asked a Portuguese friend living in Barreiro, whether he knows what that monument is. Still no results! I don't remember where I took this photo, somewhere in the park near to the centre, I guess, but I am not sure of that.
I'll ask also someone else, maybe he knows. ;)
