Portuguese Fado Please, Can Sb Reccommend Fado Singers?

FADO - I heard Fado music recently at a concert in Zagreb and felll in love with it. Can sb reccommend good Fado singers and songs?

- It\'s nice to know that you like so much fado. For start I think you should listen to our most famous fado singer - Amália Rodrigues, unfortunately she died some years ago but she is still an icon of the Portuguese Culture and left beautiful songs.

I recommend to you also Mariza - she has been quite famous in and outside Portugal - Camané and Mísia.
I hope you enjoy them ;)

- Yes, I would also recommend Mariza. I was listening to her music for a long time! - ok, just keep in mind that [b]NOBODY[/b] could ever sing fado better than Amalia, she simply [i]is the FADO[/i], she was, is and always be the [i]deusa do fado[/i] but anyway in the last decade another star has been shining in the fado music, Dulce Pontes, another amazingly gifted voice coming from Portugal =o)

btw, It\'s great that my 1000th post is about fado, a genre I\'ve discovered exactly on the same day I subscribed here, I dedicate it to all fado lovers!!!=o)

- Just one slight correction: The music of Madredeus and Dulce Pontes\' are not considered as Fado but they have a lot of its influence as well as folk music.

But putting aside styles, I would also choose in my list of the best Portuguese voices Amália\'s, Dulce Pontes\' and Teresa Salgueiro\'s. :)
