is it pronounced like \"yoo\" or \"ewo\" ??

- think about the letter E and then the letter U. then pronounce them.

- AFAIK there´s no similar sound in english, could suggest a italian or spanish word to compare to, but dunno how familiar you are with those languages.

Try some site with audio files to get used to portuguese pronunciation. I suggest www.sonia-portuguese.com, see sections \"Pronunciation\" and \"Phrases\". Note that it´s brazilian portuguese.

See also the thread \"Good places for listening Portuguese\" for other sites worth visiting. For a beginner, however, I think Sonia´s site is fine.i ki
