Formal speech/writing vocab - Can someone give examples of words you use in writing?

For example..

"Therefore ..."
"Moreover, ..."
"So, ..."

"Dear [nome], "
"Sincereley, [nome]"

- therefore - portanto, por isso
moreover - além disso
so - if it's an adverb: tão
if it's a conjunction: por isso, portanto

dear - querido (it isn't used as freely as in English. it's used in a informal context. a formal form could be [b]prezado[/b])
sincerely - sinceramente (this is a litteral translation.)
you can say: um abraço (a hug), beijos (kisses) - informal
desde já agradeço a atenção (literally: since now i thank you the attention) - formal
