Jogo 1: Para practicar o vocabulÃ¡rio do supermercado - Faz muito tempo que eu tinha intentado de escrever o portuges e por isso é muito possivel que tenha alguns problemas com a gramática mas, depois de pensar um pouco, acho que é importante ter alguns jogos de vocabulário como os que ja temos nas outras seções do foro.

Por isso, quero que comecemos o jogo com o vocabulário do supermercado. Para os que ainda nao sabem como é, uma pessoa começa por escrever uma palavra que deve ser algo que se pode comprar no supermercado. A pessoa que segue vai a escrever uma palavra que começa com a letra que termina a palavra que ja foi escrito.

De nada...tamben tenho que practicar! Se voce quer ter outros jogos, pode comeca-los aqui no foro. :) Estou pensando nos outros tipos de jogos que podemos fazer e que sao um pouco mais original mas ainda nao sei o que devemos fazer. Se voce tem algumas ideas, por favor escreva-as aqui.

Folks, it's very difficult to find things (those you can buy in a supermarket) with an initial "o". So, try to use words that don't end in "o" :-) Words ending in any other vowel, and in consonants "l", "m", "n", "r" or "s" are most welcome.

AFAIK 'Ananás' is used in Portugal and Africa; brazilians say 'Abacaxi', native indian word.

About "sabão" and "sabonete": although they have the same purpose (cleaning things), they´re different things (because they´re used to clean different things :-)

"Sabão" is the same as "soap", used at the laundry (to wash clothes) and at the kitchen (to do the dishes).
"Sabonete" is the same as "toilet soap": it´s smaller, has round corners, and is usually scented. You use it at the bathroom (to wash yourself).

More about it: the suffix "nete" means "small". It´s very uncommon; see the example:

o vagão - the wagon
o vagonete - a small wagon

- thank you for the corrections, but i've never heard this word pimento. here, in Brasil (at least, in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro states, that are where i lived) we use the word pimenta for both the spice and for the vegetable.

- i was looking at my serbian-portuguese dictionary and i found:
rezanci - talharim, macarrão, aletria

here in Brazil we use more talharim, that's a kind of spaghetti. but we all almost eat macarrão that is the classic spaghetti.

ice-cream in brasil is sorvete. it's nice, because we have many vocabulary differences between the european and the brasilian portuguese (and the african and the asian ones, too!)

- "orelha de porco" (pig ear): it´s usually used in the brazilian national dish "feijoada", not only the ear, but other pig´s parts also :-) read more about that in:

- Lyddi wrote "espetada de tamboril", I´ve never heard of it, so I had to search google for that... It´s a portuguese recipe, "tamboril" is a fish ("Lophius piscatorius", in Brazil it has the rather uncanny name of "peixe-pescador" => "fisher fish" :-P and "espetada de tamboril" is tamboril + butter + lemon + pepper + garlic + salt.
