Não deveria ser "eu preciso de estudar"? :)

- Good question Axystos.

Let´s consider, for instance, the verb 'gostar' (to like). This verb demands the preposition 'de', so:

Eu gosto de chocolate - I like chocolate
Eu gosto de dormir :-) - I like to sleep

About 'precisar', it demands 'de' too:

Eu preciso de água - I need water

But, when you use it with a verb, you don't use the preposition... That is:

Eu preciso estudar - I need to study

An exception to the general rule :-/

If I may correct:
"Eu gostaria de estar falando tudo português
-I would like to be able to speak perfect Portuguese?(?)"

the translation is not as accurate as it could be. For your translation "I would like to be able to speak perfect Portuguese" in Portuguese it should be written "Eu gostaria de ser capaz de escrever Português perfeito"

Another correction, if you allow me:
"Eu preciso estudar
-I need study(?)"

"Estudar" is the verb in the infinitive, so you would have to put the "to" so it should be: "I need TO study"

Please let me know if I can help you further more! :)

Até breve!
(See you soon)

- I've been helped because I have some Brazillian friends who can correct my pronunciation. If you can find a Portuguese-speaker to meet face-to-face, get them to help.

More people speak Portuguese than you'd think. I just found out my neighbour speaks it too.

I held my first half-conversation with a Portuguese speaker yesterday! It went like this:

Me: "Olá! ... uhm... você falar Inglês?"
Him: "pouco"
Me: "Ah... uhm... que é você nome?"
Him: "heh... Marco, é você?"
Me: "Chris... meu Português não é muito bom"
Him: "...Why don't we just speak English?"
Me: "...yeah, let's"

heehee! Was funny! We ended up having to get someone who spoke both English and Portuguese to translate! But the practice in real life is handy.

Also I would like to learn german.

***** TO: RagingPineapples ******

The setence "Obrigado, mas eu escrito o Inglês. Eu não escrito o Português." is fuzzy...
Considering the information on the previous sentence ("Thanks, but I wrote the english bits not the Portuguese ones.") the correct one would be "Obrigado, mas eu escrevi (as partes) em inglês, e não (as partes) em português.
