Poze din România - istorie şi artă:
Bună tuturor,

I promised some pictures!

The Hunyad Castle

It is interesting the way it was conserved along the years. It is sinister and imposing!

Simeon, this is the bridge you crossed. How do you feel?:D
I'm somewhere on the bridge!

This is the interior yard

The fountain is legendary! It is said that the men locked inside were promised freedom if they dug till they reach the water. After they managed to reach the water, the promised freedom wasn't granted to them, instead they were cursed:

"You will have water but you will lose your soul."

The mortuary chamber

The flag of Dacia!

The condemned cell

Ţi-ar place să-l vizitezi? Te invit la castel prin topicul "Vedeţi locurile?";)

Would you like to visit it? I invite you to the castle through the thread "Vedeţi locurile?".

Eu vedeam tu şi Simeon de pe o distanţă ferită. :D

(I was seeing you and simeon from a safe distance :D )

Mike, I didn't doubt for a moment that you keep an eye to our visit to the castle:D(I like this English expression)

Nu mă îndoiam nici o clipă că ai un ochi aţintit către vizita noastra la castel!

"A vedea în depărtare este ceva, însă a ajunge acolo, este cu totul altceva"[/color]

"To see afar is something, but to reach there is something else in all"

I went to Târgu Jiu to admire the work of Constantin Brâncuşi. It is grandiose, but the thing that impressed me most was the message of the artist. All the work is displayed on a alley, on a straight line.
The Table of Silence, on each side of the alley there are Stone Chairs for people to sit till reaching The Gate of Kiss through which the Church may be seen. Reaching to the Church, it seems that there is nothing else left. Yet, if you keep on walking, beyond the Church, you'll find the imposing Endless Column.

Masa Tăcerii

This water is behind the Table of Silence

Poarta Sărutului

Here you can see the stone chairs

Afar is the Church

Coloana Infinitului

The people try to decode the message, each perceives it differently. Which in your opinion is the message?

Wow...this topic is great Lina, I was about to say to post more, and you already did that this morning. :D

Anyway, I will use this chance to tell you few words...as May 15th closing, I am joining the army, its time to serve my country :)
I will be gone for 3 months, maybe I will be home for some weekend, but I don't know when, so I just wanted to thank you for everything till now, this is not good bye, just bye :), maybe I wasn't the best student, but it was very fun to visit this forum every day, and it was like my ritual in the morning...you people made Romania to look much closer to me, and I hope if I have enough money after the army (15 August) I will have that pleasure to visit this country...maybe even watch some Dinamo game ;) (sorry Steaua fans lol)...

thats all for now...
yours private Kotle :D

Lina, I was very excited to see your photographs of Brâncuşi’s work at Târgu Jiu. It made me want to go straight there and see it all for myself, but unfortunately, when I look on the map, it is a very long way from Iaşi! Maybe one day.

I have some pictures of Iaşi that I could post here but I don't know how!

Bună Becky!

First off welcome to the Romanian forum I hope we see you here often. :)

Second to post pictures you have to first create an account on photobucket.com then upload pictures to photobucket then it will create a code that you post into the forum. I hope that helps. If you still don't understand I think there is a more detailed explanation somewhere on phrasebase.

@ Lina perhaps I'll post some of my pictures from my recent trip to Washington D.C.! I'll see what I can do.

Sincerely,

Kenny

P.S. Iaşi is one of my favorite Romanian cities.

One of my favourite cities in Romania is Brașov.
I love the "Biserica Neagra" (Black Church), it looks so medieval and Transylvanian :)

Outside one of the university buildings. I don't know who these people are - any suggestions?

Outside the university

Near Piaţa Unirii in the centre of the city.

Near Piata Unirii

The Metropolitan Cathedral

Metropolitan Cathedral, Iasi

I pass this place everyday on the tram, but I don't know what it is. One day I will have to get off the tram here and take a look! It is either a monastery or a church.

Hi Becky, I don't see any pictures. I just see text and then some empty spaces followed by some more text. Does anyone else have this problem?

Avaldi, beautiful pictures of southern spain! Thanks for posting them.

If I can figure a way to post images here I'll do that later.

You have more pictures than I:) Avaldi, thanks for your pictures!
Braşov is one of the most beautiful Romanian city. Biserica Neagră is fantastic, so simplicity and solemnity in one place! I hope Cătălin will tell us more about Braşov. Bine ai venit, Catălin:)
And Becky, I would love to visit Moldova, especially the Memorial House of Creangă and Eminescu, and our amazing monasteries.
Indeed, Brâncuşi's works are great! I read somewhere that one of his desire was to put his works in the parks, so the children can play with them.

Bună seara, bine v-am găsit!

Sper că sunteţi bine, am multe poze pentru voi:)

I have been for a week to Brasov - to the touristic complex Bran, and of course I have taken pictures for you!

Here I stopped at an outlaw road-house. I liked the menu list and the dishes you could have ordered in outlaw's style.

Legenda spune altceva...

This is the place I told you about. It is situated next to the Bran castle. There is a big market from where you can buy some special hand made souvenirs.
And also a specific place where you can order a "Dracula" drink:D

He asked me if I would like to kiss him, and my answer was "NOooo"...When he took off his mask I saw that he was a nice guy...
