Romanian session - Bună dimineaţa la toţi studenţii.
Good morning to all students.

I wanted to ask if any students here would be interested in an audio session, possibly a weekly session of Romanian at a fixed time and weekday.

Skype would be required to attend, as the Phrasebase Chat is frequently overloaded. Headphones and microphone also required.

Respond to this thread or contact me to get in on it.
I propose weekend times, as most of us are more available on the weekends.
Saturdays 11 AM EST (GMT-5). Feel free to suggest alternate days/times.

I'll follow up in this forum with the results of your responses.

- 11am est?? O_O sper că glumesti.. nu mă trezesc până la oră de 13 sau 10 pst, lol. am nevoie de un trai... oricum, aş putea sugera un timp mai tarziu daca e posibil, şi păstrează aceeasi zi.

I hope you're joking.. i dont wake up until 1pm or 10am pst, lol. I need a life.. anyways, I could suggest a later time if possible, and keep the same day.

I'd love to help, and to learn maybe a couple things that I haven't yet learned.

Later is fine - Later is fine too. So if we say 1 pm EST is that better?

I can't help but correct a few things, if you don't mind.

'la ora 1' You don't need 'de', no accent on 'ora'.
Instead of 'Am nevoie de un trai' I'd say 'Trebuie să trăiesc şi eu' :-P

Diacritics on: glumeşti, târziu, dacă and aceeaşi.

Is there anyone else who will join us for this session?

ŞI EU!! - Aş vrea să invăţa asta limbă foarte mult. Eu invăţ româneşte de puţin timp dar aş vrea să îmbunătăţi.

I would like to learn that language very much. I have been learning Romanian for a short time but I would like to improve.

That time is fine for me. :D I'm always online, I also need a life. XD

Nu folosesc Skype... If I get some headphones that work on a computer, then I'll download Skype, I guess... The time would work for me, but once school starts, I'll be busy on most of my Saturdays during that time. AcaDec practices end at 2-3 p.m. (CST) Not asking you to change the time!

- It's always tricky to try to come up with common times.

It's hard enough when people live in the same city, but with people scattered around the world, it gets kinda silly.

Jeremy's doing very well, but needs to speak more, so for now we'll accomodate his time, the lazy bum. ;-)

My own schedule is kind of crazy. I could do noon fairly reliably, but I'm not sure about 1 pm. If there isn't a session then I'll post a message about it by Friday before the session.

We'll set it for Saturdays at 1 pm EST, and see how that goes.

Anyone who participates will have to have Skype, and add my name: Dracosalpha to their list.
I'll be hosting the chat, so just look for me online then.

I can only accomodate 4 participants at a time because of Skype's conference call limitations. Priority will be given to folks who want to talk, before people who want to just sit in.

I'll see you then.

Like to learn as well - Hi Alex,

I would like to learn the language very much, as I plan to visit Bucharest in November again. Don't have any previous knowledge on the language though. Can you recommend any training materials so I can join in as well?

BTW: I'm from The Netherlands, so my timezone will bet CET (GMT+1).

- I would like to be part of this session as well, but i have next to nothing as far as knowlege of the language goes. any time is good for me, i dont usually sleep

I'd love to... - Hey guys and gals... I'm interest on these sessions, too... But as for now, my romanian sux.. Can't say a word, actually... But I've heard it is very close to Portuguese, and since I'm brazilian, I guess I'll learn fast...

- Four people only? That sounds bad... You should use Teamspeak instead. At UniLang, they have a channel on Teamspeak... People can create their own channels or go to channels for specific languages. There isn't one for Romanian, but you could create the channel and limit it to however many you want.

Then again, a larger group is not too great either. I never end up talking when there are a lot of people talking, and people just wonder why I say nothing.
