adverbial before the existential "haber"?: ORIGINAL TITLE: adverbial before the existential "tener"?

Is it correct to say "There are two books on the table." like this?

"Sobre la mesa, hay dos libros."
instead of "Hay dos libros sobre la mesa."

Tener? Where's tener there?
Absolutely correct if you say
"Sobre la mesa hay dos libros" (I'd say the comma is not necessary) and "Hay dos libros sobre la mesa".

Only out of my annoying curiosity... may I ask you what do you study? A lot of fora have your posts asking similar questions. Do you study linguistics or something like that?
