Palabras Semejantes: ONe of the difficult things about learning Spanish with an entire base of Spanish Speakers here, is that one person from one country defines a word one way, while another defines it a different way.

WHat are some of the words that mean something in one country but is different in another country?

Por ejemplo:
I've read that Prestar is an acceptable verb some places for "To Ask to borrow". Pedir Prestado is acceptable in other places.

Do you think it only happens with spanish? What about your native language? ;) The same happens with portuguese, french or chinese and many other languages...

I know it happens with others, I was just learning Spanish at the time and that's what I noticed :-P
