Spratly education: A new idea...anyone wanting to contribute writes down one fact about the Spratly Islands that nobody else has mentioned before.....
e.g.The Spratly Islands are a disputed group of approximately 100 reefs and islets in the South China Sea.

Part of the South China Sea Islands, the Spratly Islands are surrounded by rich fishing grounds and gas and oil deposits, whose true extent is unknown and disputed.

The Spratley Islands got its English name after either Richard or William Spratley, both mariners.

Spratly Islands RIP: Well, everybody - I have tried! I find it sad that there is so little interest in such a fascinating part of the world, but really nobody seems tó be interested at all - so I am hereby giving up all my attempts to breathe life in to this forum - may it rest in peace!
