| Fröding poem - This is a "poem" written by Gustaf Fröding that shows that Swedish can be difficult to other Swedes as well On the left it is written in Värmlandish and on the right it is translated to regular Swedish Just for fun: http://web.telia.com/~u54808711/inswedish/katrin/Dialekter/Varmlandska/sv-froding.html PS. You must read the conversation in Värmlandish to get the point. | |

| - The fun part is, that I understood the Värmlandish very well, often better than the "bookish Swedish". This is because my Norwegian dialect really resembles it! That was fun and interesting! But I agree, it is probably hard for people who doesn`t speak like that, to understand what it is written. | |

| - Not really sure...have to look up where Värmland is located (I think it is in Mid-Sweden, close to the border?). I live near Trondheim...which is basically on the opposite side of the Swedish border :) | |

| - Ók, it is above Vänern, next to Norway. Isn't nynorsk the "official" laungage in Trondheim? Gott nytt år föressten! | |
