Help me find my friend! - Hello everyone! I have been trying to call a friend in Sweden with no luck. I found a program that lets you send an SMS, but I don't understand what it is saying when I send one. Could anyone please help me with translating it as well as tell me how many numbers a typical phone number has?

Here is the message:
En wap-länk följer med sms:et. Använd länken för att få karta & vägbeskrivning. Wap-länken fungerar på mobiler med wap, gprs och 3G.

- Translation:

"A WAP link will be attached with the SMS. Use the link to get map & driving directions. The WAP link will work on cell phones with WAP, GPRS and 3G."

Using capitals for the tech acronym mumbo-jumbo.. :-)

Typical phone numbers may vary. For a cell phone, it will be ten digits within Sweden (e g 070-1234567) which from abroad will be +46701234567.

For ordinary phones, Swedish area code numbers are two (Stockholm only, code is 08) three or four digits, and the subscriber number is five to eight digits. Typically, longer area codes and shorter subscriber numbers go together, but it is no guarantee. I myself, have a three-digit area code and only five digit subscriber number.
The leading zero in the area code is removed when calling from outside Sweden, so resulting area code will be one, two or three digits) You should expect +46 and seven to ten digits following.

- Jolin!
Thank you so much! I can't wait to get home and try it. I think the problem was I was trying to dial 0 and the whole number was almost 12 digits long, which seems much too long. I'll give it a try with the different combinations you've suggested!

Tack!

- I have to wait for the weekend. When I get home, it's too late in Sweden... I'm still figuring out the number, too.

- Guys!!! It worked! I just called with the number scheme you recommended Jolin and it went right through. There were three extra numbers in the number we were given.

Tack! Thank you so much! You guys have helped reunite me with a friend I have lost touch with for 12 years. This whole time we had the wrong numbers.
