| Trying to learn tamil - I know there are different dialects of tamil, and my family is from Tamil Nadu. So I was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere online that teaches that certain dialect. I am also looking for somewhere that has audio samples of tamil that i can listen to so I can be able to pronounce everything correctly. Also, if anyone would be willing to help teach me, that would be great. | |

| - Krishan, Duke University has some good \'free\' resources for learning tamil. As far as the specific dialect you may do best just to talk with your family after you learn some basics, assuming you are just starting out. I have come across a couple different audio websites, but upon searching could not re-find them. Maybe you could have better luck, they are out there. The University of Pennsylvania also has some good pages on tamil, including alphabet, pronunciation, and even some audio. Sorry I couldn\'t give you exact websites, just didn\'t have time. I see you are from Oregon. I was born and raised there. :) Good Luck nalam, nalam ariya aaval, veelakhu | |
