Sister I am just curious to know that can u pronounce Urdu words properly? does your mommy get what you want to say?
An last question: Can you answer her according to the situation?
mairangelSaturday 18th of November 2006 05:21:42 AM
Bohat Shukriya Bhai... -
Well, some words I know how to pronounce, but others I do not know at all. I try and I pronounce them the way I think it is. :( Sometimes she does not understand me, so she puts my in laws in the line for them to tell her what I meant. It is so embarrassing for me. :(
And,no...I would not know to reply to her sayings. :( I am trying my best to speak and understand urdu fluently asap. But I think I will only be succeed when I live with them , so that everyday urdu is spoken and I get used to it.
Thanks a lot bhai. You are helping me a lot. You seem to be a wonderful person. May Allah bless you and all your loved ones! Amen!

- I do not know. :(
I do not know how to make phrases yet. :(:(:( As i am so busy with last week of university and all, i am not having the enough time to dedicate to urdu.

- I wish you and your family all the strength you might need

Translation:
Main dua karti hoon kai Allah/God aapko aur aapkay ghar waaloon to himmat day

Something else that you might use if it is a tragic time:
Main (I/we) dua karti (or karta if masculine) hoon kai Allah/God aapko(you) aur aapkay(your) ghar waaloon (family or literally people living in your house) to iss mushkil (difficult) waqt (time) mein sabr (patience) or himmat(strength) day (not pronounced as engligh \'day\' but more like english \'they\')
