Practising sentences. - I would like to practise formulating sentences in Urdu more. Therefore I am just going to make up a story. I will post a few sentences once in a while here and I hope someone will correct my errors and let me know any misinterpretations and if there are better ways to formulate a sentence.

Aik daffa ka zikkar larka tha.
Uss ka naam Jan tha.
Jan uss ke vaalidain se ne rehya.

Once upon a time, there was a boy.
His name was Jan.
Jan lived with his parents.

Uss ka maan us madad karya.
Jan bhi farm per madad karya.

His father was a farmer.
His mother helped him.
Jan helped on the farm also.

the corect - Uss ka abba kisaan tha(already corect)
Uss ki maan uska madad karta tha(for past)
Uss ka maan usky madad ki(for near past)
Jan bhi kheton par madad kia or madad karta tha.(khet for single,and kheton for plural)

- Thanks, I will use that tense then.

I read on the tenses thread about the difference of us ka and apna.
In the sentences of this story the parents are the boy his own parents. Does that mean I should use apna here instead of the uss ka I have used?

well you can use it such as

there is difrent between \"Us ka\" or \"apna\"...
for example.
Uska abba kisaan tha.his father was farmer
He was working with his father.woh apne bap(abbe) ke saath kheton main kam karta thaa..
well. you cant use so

Jan jungle par pasand karta chalna tha.
Aik din vo aik choti, thori, patli billi talash karta tha.
Jan billi ki fayslaa karta dekh-bhal karna tha, jab-tak vo se achcha tha.

Jan liked walking through the forest.
One day he found a young, little and skinny cat.
Jan decided to take care of the cat until it got better.

Is-sabab Jan thora bili chota shed andar chupna tha.

He knew that his parents didn’t want any cats on the farm.

English

Har subah per Jan billi xufya xufya khilana giyaa tha.
Khab billi uss se mazbut theek hai ya, Jan us ko ijaazat dena aana chaahta ya.
Lekin khab Jan darvaza kholta ya, bili door chalna naheen karta ya.

Every morning Jan secretly went to feed the cat.
When the cat had recovered, Jan wanted to let him go.
But when Jan opened the door, the cat didn’t walk away.

Would you like to answer the following questions?

- Do you use \"kab\" for questions referring to when something happened, while using \"jab\" for conditional sentences?

- What is the difference between \"xufya\" and \"chupke\"?

- What does \"wapas\" mean? I could only find translation \"return\".

Salam - well \"kab\" will use the time when you asks question
and \"jab will be use at the time when no question,usauly answer
example
when will you go?-Aap kab jaogi(f)
when will you come back/return-Aap kab wapas aogi(f)?
.when i finsh my work-jab main apna kam khatam karonga(m)/karongi(f).
he saw me when i reach there-usne mujhe dekha(m)/dekhi(f),jab main wahan phoncha(m)/phonchi(f).

\"xufya\"hmmmm i cant read it dear
\"chupke\"...secretly and hidely too
hide=chupna, and secret=raaz

\"wapas\" means to return and also to back.

Part 6 (chay) - I have tried a few more:

Billi Jan pechha karna rakhti thi.
Saath woh har din jungle pe chalte the.

Aur aik yaqeeni sapeher per kuch darakht minjaanib peechhay chhalaag lagaata ya.

And on a certain afternoon, something jumped from behind a tree.
