| - bauth shukriya ^^ is it so that nouns donīt have separate plural form? so the same word is used for flower and flowers, cat and cats, etc. ? also for this/these and that/those? (yeh and vo)? what about adjectives? no plural but gender forms yes? if so, how is masculine and feminine forms for example for adjectives happy, sad, angry, short and gentle? a happy man, a happy woman, etc. i hope im not bothering but i need to learn carefully "^^" | |
| dashaz | Sunday 15th of January 2006 06:10:22 AM |
| - some nouns have plural form..some dont..it depends on the noun. ex. like for bird/birds - there is only one form which is both singular and plural "chiriya" same for flower/flowers = phool BUT for cat/cats there is a singular and a plural form cat = "billi" cats = "billiya" these/this = yeh (singular and plural) that/those = vo (singular and plural) like nouns..adjectives' gender depends on wat word u are using. it can sometimes be bi..take happy for example: happy= "khush" (vo ladki khush hain: vo ladka khush hain) (that girl is happy: that boy is happy) as u notice..the word "khush" can be used for girls and for guys widout altering the word in any way. the same goes for the word sad, angry, and gentle sad = "udhaas" (vo ladki udhaas hain: vo ladka udhaas hain) (that girl is sad: that boy is sad) angry = "naraz" (vo ladki naraz hain: vo ladka naraz hain) (that girl is angry: that boy is angry) gentle= "muhazzib" (vo ladki muhazzib hain: vo ladka muhazzib hain) (that girl is gentle: that boy is gentle) however...words like short and tall are adjectives that changing (slightly) according to the noun short= "chota/choti" (vo ladki choti hain: vo ladka chota hain) (that girl is short: that boy short) tall = "lamba/lambi" (vo ladki lambi hain: vo ladka lamba hain) distinguishing if the adjective changes or not mite be difficult..i hope this helped u a little ? | |
