Been there? - Have any of you been to visit Viet Nam lately - besides those who were born there? A friend of mine has offered to lend me the plane fare. I\'m thinking on it.

re* - Hello- I just read your post. I don’t know what you know already so it’s tough to know where to begin. I was in Viet Nam in September. I really enjoyed my time there and now I am working to learn the language. I just joined this site today. I have some friends in Saigon. If I can answer any questions for you, feel free to write. I am not an expert, but I really liked it there and I plan to go back within the next two years. p/s You may enjoy reading Andrew Pham’s \"Catfish and Mandala\"…it’s a nice intro to contemporary VietNam.

I\'m so jealous - I\'ve just about made up my mind to go. I\'ve been looking into teaching English over there but I\'m not sure how much Vietnamese you have to know. I have been studying Vietnamese for about six months. Where did you stay when you were over there - in a hotel or did you rent a house or apartment?
