Vietnamese Teacher Needed - I am going to Ho Chi Minh next July and would like to learn enough tiếng Việt, to have basic conversation, at the least to ask directions, be polite, etc. As I am a male, I would prefer a male teacher so that I can speak as well as I possibly can.

My native language is English but I also speak French and Japanese so language learning comes naturally to me. Many people say that pronunciation in these and other languages (greetings only) is very good.

Thank you for your consideration.

Kenny

Help you out - You wanna learn VietNamese, first of all, you have to make friend with some cool guys like me (just kidding) and enthusiastic. Try to ask them how to pronunce exactly the Vietnamese Alphabet. Secondly, you need to buy E-V, V-E dictionaries which might help u out some vocabularies. Thirdly, our pronunciation is totally different from any country so you need some CD and tape to listen. If u have money, u can hire a private tutor but the most important thing is you should chat in YIM or Skype with Vietnamese Native Speakers more often. In my opinion, Hanoi people pronounces more clearly and easier than other cities in my country. So if u can, try to hire tutor in Hanoi. They will tell u exactly the way how to pronounce perfectly. I am in Hanoi too so you can ask me sometimes.
