Thank you Pyros_amante
I never had the chance to see armenian words written for the phrases I use with our Armenian community in Hollywood.
I am exposed more to Western Armenian, being that everyone seems to be Lebanese-Armenians in my area.
For hannahkrystelle's message/STRONG>
I am comming from already having heard the language but it seems to be pronounced very closely to how it is spelled.
But just for an example:
If I were to spell this phrase
What's up-inch ka chga
using an American-English ear I would have guessed based upon how I hear it said that it would been spelled
inch ga chiga
So its rather close. Of course, with Lebanese Armenian's we switch between Arabic, Armenian, and French quite a bit due in part to the history of Lebanon itself as a country.
Enjoy the language, without a direct relation you should find it shares closest similarity with Greek, although it has a lot of borrowed words from Persian.
